Stand-Up Paddle Excursions
SUP, or Stand-Up Paddling is taking the world by storm. It is the “next thing” - the fun activity that everyone is talking about, from die-hard surfers to fitness fanatics. For surfers, SUP ads a whole new dimension to the fun that can be had on a board, from running whitewater rivers to surfing waves, big and small. But where SUP is really taking off is for people who simply want to have more fun while getting fit, or those looking to replace the sitting position of the recreational kayak, and simply go out for an easy paddle.
Our SUP Program focuses on having a great time out there on the water. Sure, we teach you how do do this properly so you can get the most enjoyment out of St Up Paddling, but we really try to focus on showing you a good time.
Who can learn to SUP?
Anyone can, regardless of age. Our specialty is teaching people who have no surfing, kayaking or canoeing experience at all. The only pre-requisite is that you be comfortable in water, and have a minimum level of fitness. But you do not need to be an uber-athlete. Au contraire - you’ll get fit at your own pace just doing it.
We’ve had 70 year olds to 7 year olds out there with us on the water, and they all had a great time. Simply put, it’s a lot of fun.
2Hr Excursion
This is our most popular SUP course. We start off by teaching you the basics of balance, paddle strokes and how to maneuver the board. Its so easy that you learn this in minutes. From there we head out into the St Laurance river and show you some great secluded spots. This is a fun outing that will set you up to be able to do this without us in the future with your friends.
All Day Pic-Nic River Run
Whether this is your first time, or you’ve been with us before, you’re welcome on this “all day” run down the beautiful “route blue” of the St Laurance. An easy, relaxing day is spent in the sun and water, stopping on the way to pic-nick and sight see. It’s hard to beat.
Whitewater Run
Quebec has some of the best whitewater rivers in the world, and we’ve started to run the easier rivers on SUP. Its a challenge, and some kayaking or previous SUP experience is needed before going with us. But we’re here to teach you the skills needed to safely run class 2-3 whitewater on a SUP. It’s an experience you’ll never forget, and once you try it, you’ll be hooked.
SUS - Stand Up Surfing
We teach stand up surfing classes on Montreals famous river waves. Previous surfing or SUP experience is needed, but you don’t have to be a pro. You just need some of the basics first so that we can concentrate on teaching you to surf. We start on some small easy waves, and progress from there.
